Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
Someone once said, “Prayer is the greatest tool we have against the devil.” What a powerful statement that is! When the struggles of life come, we have to remind ourselves that we have all we need to live the victorious Christian life.
In I Chronicles 16:11, we read, “Seek the Lord and his strength, seek his face continually.” I love that Jesus never tires of hearing us pray. Isn’t it wonderful that the Lord is not like the teacher or mom that threatens to change her name because she hears it so many times?
I don’t know about you, but there have been times in the last year I have struggled with being anxious. I am so glad that 1 Peter 5:7 is in the Bible – “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”
He did not make us to hold on to our problems, but rather to give them to Him.
There have been so many times in my own life that the Lord took the heavy burden from me and replaced it with joy and peace.
There is such a great peace in giving the Lord our cares of life. When I do that, I am saying, “Lord, I trust You and the way You are going to answer this problem.” Romans 8:28, “And we know all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
Christ knows what is best for us, even better than what we think is best.
Lastly, I will praise Him for answered prayer. I love telling the Lord how great He is and thanking Him for all He has done! Hebrews 13:15-16 says, “By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.” I am encouraged when I praise the Lord for the specific prayers answered.
Idea – Start a prayer journal for answered prayer. This has increased my faith. When I look over the prayers, I think God did it then and He will do it again.
What problem can you give to the Lord today?
